Responsibilities:
- Providing assistance to surgeons in the operating room
- Assisting on open, laparoscopic, endoscopic and robotic
procedures
- Communicating with other health care providers regarding the
patient plan of care
- Overseeing the effective use of resources in the operating
room
- Assisting the surgeon in other duties or procedures as directed
by the surgeon

Additional Requirements:
- Physician assistant licensure and initial certification
- Demonstrated competency in a variety of clinical first
assisting skills in the operating room
- Skillful communicator with surgeons, nurses, operating room
techs, operating room leadership and support staff
- Ability to multi-task effectively in a rapidly changing
environment
- Ability to function in a team environment
- Walking, standing, squatting and kneeling as required
throughout the shift
- Ability to lift and position patients and equipment as
required
- Category I risk exposure as defined by OSHA
